Dior Demi Lune Small Flap Bag
If you are a fan of Dior handbags, we may be continuously letting you down. Personally, I do not think Dior does a horrid job with their handbag line, but I also am not moved often enough about their handbags and purses to write about them. On the flip side, I am not moved so horridly that I must discuss what a major flop their bags are either. That means my feeling about Dior bags looms somewhere in the middle ground.

If I keep my personal feeling about smaller shoulder bags out of this review, I find myself liking the Dior Demi Lune Small Flap Bag. The leather is no doubt super supple and the twisted shoulder strap gives a dramatic touch. The foldover with pleated detail and silver hardware also adds nice accents.
When it comes to dimensions I feel like this purse should be a clutch. There is a 9″ drop, which is ample shoulder space, but the overall dimensions are 11×6.2×2.75 inches. are merely 4¼”W X 2½”H X 1″D. That is TINY, and though this is deemed the small size I feel like they should call it TINY. Tiny enough that I feel like this shoulder bag is actually a wristlet. Then again, my view of oversized handbags may completely and totally skew my view of proper dimensions. All I know is from the photo, the bag looks great but the size is definitely too small. Price is $1450 via Saks.

hippies style
what the hippie is about?
The hippie subculture was originally a youth movement that arose in the United States during the mid-1960s, swiftly spreading to other countries around the world. The etymology of the term 'hippie' is from hipster, and was initially used to describe beatniks who had moved into New York City's Greenwich Village and San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district. These people inherited the countercultural values of the Beat Generation, created their own communities, listened to psychedelic rock, embraced the sexual revolution, and used drugs such as marijuana and LSD to explore alternative states of consciousness.
In January 1967, the Human Be-In in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco popularized hippie culture, leading to the legendary Summer of Love on the West Coast of the United States, and the 1969 Woodstock Festival on the East Coast. Hippies in Mexico, known as jipitecas, formed La Onda Chicana and gathered at Avándaro, while in New Zealand, nomadic housetruckers practiced alternative lifestyles and promoted sustainable energy at Nambassa. In the United Kingdom, mobile "peace convoys" of New age travellers made summer pilgrimages to free music festivals at Stonehenge. In Australia hippies gathered at Nimbin for the 1973 Aquarius Festival and the annual Cannabis Law Reform Rally or MardiGrass. In Chile, "Festival Piedra Roja" was held in 1970 (following Woodstock's success), and was the major hippie event in that country.
Hippie fashions and values had a major effect on culture, influencing popular music, television, film, literature, and the arts. Since the widespread movement in the 1960s, many aspects of hippie culture have been assimilated by mainstream society. The religious and cultural diversity espoused by the hippies has gained widespread acceptance, and Eastern philosophy and spiritual concepts have reached a wide audience. The hippie legacy can be observed in contemporary culture in myriad forms — from health food, to music festivals, to contemporary sexual mores, and even to the cyberspace revolution.
How to Dress Like a Hippie
1. Do have a flower. I know the song says "in your hair" but the truth is that it's hard to get the things to stay put.2. No flower? Go for the Pocahontas headband.
3. Hair is long and "unkempt looking." (My mother's words) But it is clean. Yes, we washed our hair. Hey, deep down we were Baby Boomers from suburbia.
4. Women could wear a mini or even micro skirt provided she had decent legs. A chain belt was groovy. Boots or go-go boots were okay too.
5. Men - Jeans, the grungier the better. Leather vests were big too.
6. Fringe - for all. Vest, jackets, pants, shirts. Anything could be fringed.
7. Peace symbol. Every last one of us had at least one peace symbol.
Hippie clothes include:
1. Tie dye. We tie dyed everything from clothes to sheets. No, we didn't go to the mall and buy them. We made them. All over the Internet you can find sites that sell tie-dye packages that allow even a beginner to create a masterpiece. They have all kinds of products to make it perfect.
We didn't have any of that fancy stuff. What we had was Rit dye. We'd twist or gather the fabic, secure it with a rubber band and pitch it in a pot according to the Rit directions. You don't get great multicolored perfect patterns, but what you do have is authentically handmade.
2. Facial hair - on men only! Beards or moustashes, but never nicely trimmed.
3. Bell bottom, patched jeans
4. Leather sandals
5. Obligatory peace symbol
Hippie clothes include:
1. Tee shirts are always acceptable
2. Fringed leather vest
3. Granny glasses were groovy too
4. Obligatory flower
5. Obligatory peace symbol
Hippie clothes include:
1. Hip hugger, bell bottom jeans and wide leather belt.
2. Fringed jean bottoms
3. Halter top
4. Headband with flower. (One way to keep the thing in place.)
5. Bare feet. You'll notice from the photo below that the practice of going barefoot tends to make your feet dirty. Plus, you can step in some serious er, stuff.
Ankle bells are in.
6. Obligatory peace symbol. If you didn't want to wear it around your neck you could have a peace symbol belt buckle or pin. In which case you wore beads around your neck.
it's all done here, wait for my another post uyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! bye

Harajuku Girls
Wa-mono
There's me, there's you (hoko-ten)
In a pedestrian paradise
Where the catwalk got its claws (meow)
A subculture, in a kaleidoscope of fashion
Prowl the streets of Harajuku (irasshaimase)
Super lovers, tell me where you got yours
(Ooh at the super lovers store)
Yuji Yamamoto
I'm hanging with the locals
Where the catwalk got its claws
All you fashion know-it-alls
With your underground malls
In the world of Harajuku
Putting on a show, when you dress up in your clothes
Wild hair color and cell phones
Your accessories are dead on
Harajuku girls, you got the wicked style
I like the way that you are
I am your biggest fan, oh
Harajuku girls, you got the wicked style
I like the way that you are
I am your biggest fan, oh
Harajuku girls
I'm looking at you girls
You're so original girls
You got the look that makes you stand out
Harajuku girls, I'm looking at you girls
You mix and match it girls
You dress so fly and just parade around (arigato)
I'm fascinated by the Japanese fashion scene
Just an American girl in the Tokyo (Tokyo) streets
My (Tokyo) boyfriend bought me a Hysteric Glamour (Hysteric Glamour!) shirt
They're hard to find in the States, got me feeling couture(it´s very cool)
What's that you got on
Is it Comme Des Garcons
Vivienne Westwood can't go wrong
Mixed up with second-hand clothes
(Let's not forget about John Galliano!)(No!)
Flip the landscape when Nigo made A Bathing Ape
Ooh I've got expensive taste (oh well)
Guess I'm better save up (chotto takai)
Harajuku girls, you got the wicked style
I like the way that you are
I am your biggest fan, oh
Harajuku girls, you got the wicked style
I like the way that you are
I am your biggest fan, oh
Work it, express it
Live it, command your style
Create it, design it
Now let me see you work it [repeat]
You bring style and color all around the world (you harajuku girls)
You bring style and color all around the world (you harajuku girls)
Your look is so distinctive, like DNA
Like nothing I've ever seen in the USA
Your underground culture, visual grammar
The language of your clothing, is something to encounter
A ping-pong match between eastern and western
Did you see your inspiration in my latest collection
Just wait til you get your little hands on L.A.M.B.
Cause it's super kawaii !, that means super cute in Japanese !
The streets of Harajuku are your catwalk
bishoujo, you're so vogue
That's what you drop
Cho saikou, Harajuku girls
And that's what you drop, and that's what you drop
Cho saikou, Harajuku girls
I'm your biggest fan
Gwen Stefani, you like me?!
Harajuku girls, you got the wicked style
I like the way that you are
I am your biggest fan, oh
Harajuku girls, you got the wicked style
I like the way that you are
I am your biggest fan, oh
Harajuku girls [chorus in background]
Harajuku girls
Style detached from content
A fatal attraction to cuteness
Style is style
Fashion is fashion
Girl, you got style!

start being a queen from your nail
HISTORY
The Chinese used a colored lacquer, made from a combination of Arabic gum, egg whites, gelatin and beeswax. They also used a mixture consisting of mashed rose, orchid and impatiens petals combined with alum. This mixture, when applied to nails for a few hours or overnight, leaves a color ranging from pink to red. The Egyptians used reddish-brown stains derived from henna to color their nails as well as the tips of their fingers. Henna dyes are used to draw intricate, temporary designs on hands in Mehndi. Chou Dynasty of 600 B.C., Chinese royalty used gold and silver to enhance their nails. A fifteenth-century Ming manuscript cites red and black as the colors chosen by royalty for centuries previous. The Egyptians used nail color to signify social order, with shades of red at the top. Queen Nefertiti, the wife of the king Akhenaton, colored her finger and toe nails ruby red; Cleopatra favored a deep rust red. Women of lower rank who colored their nails were permitted only pale hues. Incas decorated their fingernails with pictures of eagles. Some Native Americans had colorful nails. It is unclear how the practice of coloring nails progressed following these beginnings. Portraits from the 17th and 18th centuries include shiny nails. By the turn of the 19th century, nails were tinted with scented red oils and polished or buffed with a chamois cloth, rather than simply painted. In addition, English and US 19th century cookbooks contained directions for making nail paints. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, women still pursued a polished, rather than painted, look by massaging tinted powders and creams into their nails, then buffing them shiny. One such polishing product sold around this time was Graf’s Hyglo nail polish paste. Some women during this period painted their nails using a clear, glossy varnish applied with camel-hair brushes. When automobile paint was created around 1920, it inspired the introduction of colored nail enamels. Nail polish contains nitrocellulose which is available in many different grades and is measured by viscosity. Nail grade nitrocellulose should be used for nail polish, as opposed to industrial grade which is available for use in furniture finishes, auto-paints and other various non-cosmetic lacquer finishes. Nail polish manufacturers are known to use industrial grade nitrocellulose covertly to save money, as it is half the price of the nail grade nitro.
Nail polish in fashion
Nail polish has been traditionally worn by women, but is now gaining in popularity for men as well. Traditional colors for nail polish were red, pink and brown, and it can now be found in virtually any color. French manicures traditionally mimic the color of natural nails, using a clear, beige or soft pink polish on most of the nail with a white finish at the tips. Reverse French manicures have recently become popular with women as well.
Black has been a popular color of nail polish with goths and punks of both genders since the 1970s, and has recently gained acceptance as a very chic color for both men and women. Other dark shades are finding popularity with more men in recent years as men wearing their nails (toes and/or fingers) polished is gaining in acceptance.
Some types of polish are advertised to cause nail growth, make nails stronger, prevent nails from breaking, cracking and splitting and stop nail biting. Nail polish may be applied as one of several components in a manicure. However, some nail treatments contain ingredients such as ammonium hexafluorophosphate.

it's american dream wohooo
The spring is around the corner and one of the best choices is denim. Even at the risk of being redundant, a total-denim look is what is needed for capturing the essence of this trend. Denim, the eternal fabric, was first introduced to fashion in 1853 by a German immigrant, Levi Strauss. He moved from New York to California, where the gold rush was at its height and where workers needed resistents pants. In the Fifties jeans became very popular among the younth. Levi Strauss made history.
Often jeans are considered symbols of the American dream and good representatives of the American culture outside USA's borders. Apparently most of the developed countries are getting over the recession. Catwalks nodded in assent giving denim a wink.
